Mahad’s friend, 26, was being treated in hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg.

The investigation so far has led authorities to believe that whoever killed Mahad intended to hurt someone else in a pre-planned, targeted attack.

Mahad’s youngest sister said: “To remain silent is to be complicit. To remain silent is to let a grieving mother remain delusional. To remain silent is to let a little boy grow up and not even know what happened to his father.

“If you know something and you haven’t come forward, please think about that. Think about the family that can’t heal because the truth is still hidden in the shadows. My brother deserves better. He deserves justice.”

Four people were arrested on suspicion of murder in March and April. He was interrogated and released on bail pending further investigation.

The reward, which is offered for information that leads to the identification, arrest and prosecution of those responsible, expires on March 20, 2026.
