Police have announced £20,000 reward For information after a fatal incident shooting in the north London in March.

Officers believe this is a case of mistaken identity and they want to speak to two people in connection with the incident.

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford, who is leading the Met’s investigation, said: “There is someone out there who knows what happened that night and we are urging those individuals to find it in their hearts to come forward.
“No matter how small the information seems to you, please talk to us. It could be just what we need to find those responsible.”
On the night of the murder, Mahad had spent the evening with his friend at his house.
They were breaking their fast outside when a stolen Mitsubishi Outlander drove up and the suspects opened fire, hitting Mahad and his friend several times.
The car was used to transport the suspects to the scene and was found burnt out in Runcorn Close, near Tottenham, the next morning.
Police believe the suspects also traveled in a stolen blue Jaguar to and from the Mitsubishi used in the shooting.
Mahad’s friend, 26, was being treated in hospital for a gunshot wound to his leg.
The investigation so far has led authorities to believe that whoever killed Mahad intended to hurt someone else in a pre-planned, targeted attack.
Mahad’s youngest sister said: “To remain silent is to be complicit. To remain silent is to let a grieving mother remain delusional. To remain silent is to let a little boy grow up and not even know what happened to his father.
“If you know something and you haven’t come forward, please think about that. Think about the family that can’t heal because the truth is still hidden in the shadows. My brother deserves better. He deserves justice.”
Four people were arrested on suspicion of murder in March and April. He was interrogated and released on bail pending further investigation.
The reward, which is offered for information that leads to the identification, arrest and prosecution of those responsible, expires on March 20, 2026.
