Srinagar, 04 June: The Union Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj has expanded 15 days for the Awaas+ 2024 survey under Pradhan Mantri Avas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), expanding the deadline from 31 May to 18, 2025.
It marks the third extension by the Center, with the original time frame of March 31, 2025, first increased to April 30, then till 31 May and now till 18 June.
The move aims to ensure comprehensive coverage, especially in remote and snobound areas where the survey has proved challenging.
A formal request made by the center region of Jammu and Kashmir was expanded.
Accordingly, the competent authority in the Department of Rural Development has approved an additional 15 days, allowing the UT to complete the AWAAS+ 2024 domestic survey and ensure the identity of all eligible rural families within this extended period.
An official communal of the ministry said that the decision followed several requests from states and center areas for a longer time to complete the survey and identify all eligible families.
The purpose of expansion is also to improve the verification of self-reported cases, ensuring that no qualified beneficiaries have been excluded.
By June 04, 2025, a total of 495,937 potential beneficiaries have been surveyed in Jammu and Kashmir, including 72,826 via self-surveys and 423,111 through aided survey.
