Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday (November 4) alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants the youth to be busy making social media reels so that they are distracted from the serious problems of education, health and employment.

Addressing back-to-back rallies in Bihar’s Aurangabad and Gayaji, Gandhi accused the PM of promoting “addiction” to social media.

“Modi wants you to get addicted to making Reels, Instagram, Facebook… this is the new high (‘addiction’) of the 21st century. He wants such a scenario because it will ensure that the youth remain distracted and do not hold his government responsible for their problems regarding education, health and employment,” he alleged.

Gandhi also claimed that Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were “indulging in ‘vote theft’ in Bihar, because they know that the NDA will not win the assembly elections”.

The former Congress president also rejected repeated claims by BJP and other NDA leaders that his party, in alliance with the RJD, will bring back “jungle raj” if voted to power in Bihar, and alleged that the PM is promoting anarchy through vote theft.

Gandhi said, “Whenever Modi comes here, he speaks about ‘Jungle Raj’. I will tell you what that is. ‘Jungle Raj’ in Delhi has been brought by Modi, who is enabling vote theft. He has done it in Maharashtra and Haryana. He wants to do the same in Bihar too. But, I am sure the people of Bihar will defeat his intentions.”

“If the India Bloc comes to power in Bihar, it will be a government of the extremely backward, socially marginalized and Dalits,” the Rae Bareli MP said.

He said it would turn the state into a manufacturing hub, ensuring ‘Made-in-Bihar’ labels on clothes and mobile phones, “so that even China is forced to sit up and take notice”.

Gandhiji also promised that if the opposition faction came to power, he would revive the ancient glory of Bihar by establishing a state-of-the-art university at Nalanda.

Criticizing the NDA government in the state, Gandhi accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of turning Bihar’s youth into laborers and “ruining” all employment options for them.

“Nitish Kumar, who works on the instructions of those sitting in New Delhi, and Narendra Modi gifted unemployment to the youth of Bihar,” the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha alleged.

“Question paper leak is also a regular affair in Bihar, which benefits economically well-off students,” Gandhi said.
