Noida, Nov 15 (IANS) BJP MP from Noida Mahesh Sharma on Saturday said the Bihar election results have reiterated that the people of Bihar have reposed their faith in the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while the Congress is fighting for its survival.
“The people of Bihar have once again demonstrated their unwavering faith in PM Modi’s visionary leadership and development-oriented governance,” he told IANS.
Sharma said that this mandate shows the confidence of Bihar in the double engine government of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar.
“Congress has lost the elections not only in Bihar but in many states across the country because it is fighting for its relevance as a political party,” the BJP MP told IANS, a day after the NDA got a thumping majority in the Bihar assembly elections.
He claimed that Congress will see more defeats in the coming times.
He claimed, “Now, more people have started believing that the Congress will soon be over. The results of Bihar are proof of this, where the grand alliance faced a massive defeat.”
On the leadership of Congress, Sharma said that under the leadership of Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, they are losing elections one after the other.
“Let Congress decide about your leadership.” This is the work of his (Rahul Gandhi’s) party members. Rahul Gandhi is not the leader of our party; He is a Congress leader, so let them think about him.
Sharma said that the results of Congress under the leadership of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi are a matter of concern for the party members.
As the grand alliance led by Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav suffered a major defeat in the Bihar elections, the BJP MP claimed that Tejashwi Yadav brings with him a legacy that includes “jungle raj”, “corruption”, “arrogance” and “misgovernance”.
He said, “It will take generations to clean up the Congress. This time, the people of Bihar have made it clear that they want to move forward on the path of development and do not want to repeat the governance system seen 20 years ago.”
