Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the first state trip to Maldives for the first time since President Mohammad Muizu received the allegations in November 2023.

In October last year, during the visit of President Muizu to India, India launched Rupay Card in Maldives to promote digital and financial cooperation between the two countries, so that it was easy for Indian tourists to pay for the citizens of Maldives coming to India along with the island nation.

The two countries issued ‘India and Maldives: A Vision for Comprehensive Economic and Marine Safety Partnership’ after a talks between PM Modi and the President of Maldives. The document spoke of cooperation in many areas including defense and trade.

Keeping in mind the progress of ongoing developmental partnership projects, which have already brought funeral benefits to the people of Maldives, the two sides have decided to work together in advancing developmental partnership, according to the needs and needs of the Maldives, including ports, airports, housing, hospitals, roads, sports, games, facilities, schools and water and sewerage.
