The Prime Minister listed the decision to reduce GST rates among his government’s historic achievements and underlined that citizens were saving thousands of crores of rupees during the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ (Savings Festival).

He said, “I extend my warm wishes to all of you on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, a festival full of energy and enthusiasm. This is the second Diwali after the grand construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.”
The PM said, “Lord Shri Ram teaches us to stick to the religion and also gives us the courage to fight injustice. We have seen a living example of this during Operation Sindoor a few months ago. During Operation Sindoor, India not only upheld the religion but also took revenge for the injustice.”
He said that this Diwali is special because for the first time, lamps will be lit in many districts across the country, including remote areas.
Modi said, “These are the districts where Naxalism and Maoist terrorism have been rooted out. In recent times, we have seen many people leaving the path of violence and joining the mainstream of development, expressing faith in the Constitution of our country. This is a major achievement for the country.”
