New Delhi, 6 October (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on a warm birthday, praising his commitment to uplift the poor and praising his commitment to strengthen the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector, an important column towards becoming a Viksite India.
Taking into the X, the Prime Minister wrote: “Best wishes to Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi ji on his birthday. He has distinguished himself by serving the poor and marginalized classes of society. He is making extraordinary efforts to strengthen the MSME area, which is necessary to pray for a long and healthy life.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended his greetings on X, highlighting Manjhi’s contribution to India’s economic development through his work in the MSME sector:
“Happy Union Birthday Union Minister Sri Sri @jitanrmanjhi ji. Under Modi ji, you are constantly giving momentum to subtle, small and medium enterprises and contributing to the creation of a self -reliant and developed India. I pray to God for your excellent health and long life.”
Many other senior leaders and cabinet colleagues joined Manjhi’s wish on their special day.
Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jishankar posted: “Happy birthday to my cabinet colleague Mr. Jitan Ram Manjhi ji. I pray to God for your good health and long life.”
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari also wish for birthday. He wrote: “For my colleague in the Union Cabinet, Mr. @jitanrmanjhi Ji, Happy Birthday. I pray to God for your excellent health, long life and a happy life.”
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also shared his wishes, posting: “Hardik Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi ji! Happy a long life and good health!”
Manjhi, a prominent Dalit leader and founder of Hindustani Awam Morcha (secular), was included in the Union Cabinet in 2024. He currently holds the portfolio of the ministers of micro, small and medium enterprises, which is important for employment generation and economic development of ground level.
