New Delhi, November 25 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to Ayodhya on Tuesday for the flag hoisting ceremony at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive around 9.30 am and locals say this moment marks the fulfillment of an age-old dream.
The flag specially designed for the Ram temple, measuring 22 feet in length and 11 feet in width, will mark the completion of the construction of the temple. Designed by a parachute expert from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the flag weighs between two to three kilograms and has been designed to match the 161-foot-tall temple spire and 42-foot-tall flagpole.
The flag will have the symbol of Surya, which symbolizes the Suryavanshi lineage of Lord Rama and divine energy.
Additionally, guests attending the flag hoisting ceremony will not be allowed to carry mobile phones inside the temple premises.
Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, had earlier informed that the flag will be hoisted over the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be present on this important occasion.
He further said that thousands of saints from eastern Uttar Pradesh have been invited to this program and around 7,000 people will attend the flag hoisting ceremony.
Special invitee member of the Trust, Gopal Rao, said that ‘Havan’ (fire ritual) has been going on in the Yagya Mandap for the last four days for the flag hoisting ceremony on Tuesday. Around 100 priests are performing the rituals, while 30 people are participating in various rituals at different places.
Residents describe November 25 as a day of immense pride for followers of Sanatan Dharma across the world. Many believe that the construction of Ram Temple is not only a religious milestone but also a historic achievement for India’s cultural identity.
Speaking to IANS, local resident Gyan Prakash Dubey said that for followers of Sanatan Dharma globally, the event is “a major moment”, adding, “As long as the Ram temple stands, Prime Minister Modi’s name will be immortalized with it. The development in Ayodhya is extraordinary.”
