Jaipur, 18 September (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Banswara in Rajasthan on 25 September, where he will lay the foundation stone for the country’s largest nuclear power project, which is estimated to be around Rs 45,000 crore.
The Mega Project employed near the Mahi Dam on the Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh border will be developed under the Nuclear Energy Mission and is expected to take a significant step forward in India’s energy security and clean energy initiatives.
During his visit to Banswara, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to address a large -scale public meeting, for which preparations are being done jointly by the state government and BJP organization. Expressing pride in the project, BJP state president Madan Rathor said that the nuclear station in Banswara will not only be the largest in the country, but will also symbolize the growing importance of the region in the national energy map.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and several cabinet ministers of both the states will be included in the Foundation Stone-Ling ceremony. Their presence outlines the importance of the project as a collaborative milestone for Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Apart from the nuclear project, Prime Minister Modi is likely to inaugurate or lay the foundation stone for a series of development projects associated with both states. However, the official confirmation on the complete list of projects is still waiting.
Meanwhile, extensive arrangements are going on to ensure the success of the program. From the preparation and safety measures of the site to road, electricity and drinking water system, the state machinery is working in close coordination. Officials are also making provisions for a live broadcast of this incident so that people from across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh can witness a historic moment.
The Prime Minister’s upcoming visit is being seen as a historical opportunity, which is ready to promote infrastructure, energy production and regional development, while also strengthens the political pace of the BJP for further major events.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources Department, Abhay Kumar, chaired an important review meeting at the Government Secretariat. He issued detailed guidelines to officers of various departments to ensure smooth arrangements for the upcoming program.
Kumar insisted that all departments should work in coordination and complete preparation as soon as possible for the success of the incident. He directed the officials to make proper arrangements for VVIP housing, transport to the general public at the venue, deploy medical teams with ambulances, supply of uninterrupted electricity and drinking water, and provision of mobile toilets and other necessary facilities.
He further directed that people should not face any inconvenience during the road trip. For this, special attention should be paid to road repair, construction of meeting site, installation of barricades, deployment of fire vehicles, traffic control measures, parking facilities and proper security pass arrangements. Kumar insisted that drinking water marks should be ensured in each block of the meeting area.
