Kurukshetra, Nov 21 (IANS) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur made the supreme sacrifice to protect humanity, religion and the nation, a legacy that should be shared with every person so that future generations can draw inspiration from this profound history.
To spread the message of Guru’s penance, sacrifice and glorious legacy to the people, the State Government and Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee are celebrating the 350th martyrdom birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur at Jyotisar.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also participate in this program.
After the program, the Prime Minister will visit the Mahabharata Experience Centre, which will be opened for tourists from India and abroad. He will also inaugurate Panchjanya in the same complex.
Apart from this, PM Modi will participate in the International Geeta Mahotsav and take part in Maha Aarti.
CM Saini, after inspecting the Jyotisar venue in Kurukshetra district on Friday, told the media that to commemorate the anniversary, four Nagar Kirtan Yatras are being organized across the state, which will pass through all the districts of Haryana. These yatras will end here on 24th November.
A function will be organized here on Martyrdom Day on 25th November in which PM Modi will attend as the chief guest. He said that the Haryana State Government is continuously working to promote the traditions, teachings and sacrifices of Gurus and other great personalities.
In this connection, the government celebrated the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev with great respect and reverence and now the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur is also being celebrated.
Highlighting various initiatives taken by the government, he said it is the State’s determination to spread awareness about the sacrifices of the Gurus and their unique contributions to humanity so that future generations can draw guidance from these sacred inspirations.
