PM Modi talks with President Zalensky, the Ukraine confirms support for efforts aimed at reinstatement of peace in conflict as soon as possible.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held a telephone talks with President Volodimier Zelansky, during which he confirmed India’s stable and consistent position for peaceful disposal of Ukraine conflict and supported efforts to restore peace.

President Zelancesi shared his views on recent developments related to Ukraine.

According to a PMO release, the Prime Minister thanked the President of Ukraine and “confirmed India’s firm and consistent position for peaceful disposal of conflict and support for the early restoration of peace”.

PM Modi reiterated India’s commitment to increase all possible support in this regard.

The leaders also reviewed the progress in the India-Ukraine bilateral partnership and discussed ways to further enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, stated in the release. They agreed to stay in touch.

PM Modi said in a post on X that President Zalensky made him aware of recent developments

“I was happy to talk with President Zelanski and listen to my perspectives on recent developments. I expressed India’s constant position on the need for the early and peaceful resolution of the struggle. India is committed to further strengthening bilateral relations with Ukraine with every possible contribution in this regard.”

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been increasing since 2002.

The conversation with President Zelansky came a few days after PM Modi spoke on the telephone with President Vladimir Putin.

During his conversation on 8 August, President Putin informed PM Modi on the latest developments related to Ukraine.

Thanking President Putin for his detailed evaluation, the Prime Minister repeated the relevant position of India for a peaceful solution to the struggle.

The two leaders also reviewed the progress on the bilateral agenda and confirmed their commitment to deepen the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia. The Prime Minister invited President Putin to India later this year for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.

PM Modi has a conversation with President Putin and President Zelanski before the summit between US President Donald Trump and the Russian President.

The meeting is scheduled to be held in Alaska on August 15 and it is expected that a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine is expected to focus a lot on the efforts of the broker.

The White House is considering inviting Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelansky at a summit in Alaska between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, a White House official on Sunday told Hill’s sister Network news to Hill.
