Mysuru, 22 September (IANS) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hit the central government on Monday and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the one who started the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and later picked up rates and now he is taking credit for the next generation GST reforms in the country.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is nothing but a fraud.
Speaking after inaugurating the Dasra Food Festival in Maharaja’s college ground in Masuru district, the Chief Minister asked, “For the last eight years, this is PM Modi who has collected GST excessively. Will all the money be returned to the people of India now?”
“We (Congress) were those who opposed increasing GST to 18 percent and 28 percent. People (BJP) who implement such taxes are now trying to claim credit. See how cleverly they (BJP) are fooling Indians. You should not fall prey to it.”
He said, “To ensure that the poor are not hungry, it, I, Siddaramaiah, who implemented Anna Bhagya Yojana and provided 10 kg of rice.”
Inaugurating Dasra in Chisiru, referring to the opposition of Booker Award winning writer Banu Mushtaq, the Chief Minister said, “The High Court and the Supreme Court have already killed such objections. I have two deities by many names. The preamble of the Constitution.”
“Those who used to oppose Banu Mushtaq are MPs twice, yet they do not even know that Dasara is our ‘Nada Habba’ (state festival). They tried to portray me as ‘anti -Hindu’, but they failed. I have a lot of names with two gods, so I am a better Hindu.”
Criticizing Prime Minister Modi for GST reforms, the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj on the social media platform X said, “Gabbar Singh has reduced the scale of looting, and everyone expects to celebrate this.
He said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believes that the people of this country are such fools that they can be fooled in any way. But people are not fools,” he said.
“Now they (BJP) want to have a” GST Savings Festival “, but were they not celebrating” GST Loot Festival “for the last eight years?” Kharge asked.
He said, “They (BJP) are those who pushed people into the well, and now they claim credit saying that they have given a ladder to get people out. But the sin of pushing people into the well for eight years is a square with PM Modi,” he said that he said that he said in the central government. “
He said, “When Rahul Gandhi repeatedly demanded that the” Gabbar Singh Tax “decreases, the BJP made fun of him. Today, public outrage, he has reduced GST – he has shamelessly tried to take credit for it shamelessly,” he said.
“When GST was planted at extreme rates, they called it” masterstroke “. Now, when GST decreases, they still call it” Mastrstroke “! Kharge said.
“But who will take responsibility for the loss given on the economy of the people and the country in these eight years? Who will respond to many small and medium industries who closed due to the impact of GST in these eight years? Who is responsible for dealing with the nation’s economy in these eight years?”
“Who will respond to the loss of job during this period? Is PM Modi himself not responsible for all this, BJP Karnataka?” Kharge asked.
