According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has postponed his upcoming visit to three countries – Norway, Croatia and Netherlands.
On April 22, after the terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi’s decision came amid increasing tension between India and Pakistan, claiming the lives of 26 people, while many others were injured.
In response to the Pahalgam attack, the Indian armed forces launched in the early hours of Wednesday under Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terrorist camps, including four in Pakistan and Pakistan and Kashmir in Pakistan.
Strike, held between 1:05 pm and 1:30 pm on Wednesday, was a coordinated attempt by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan on the basis of reliable intelligence.
Operation Sindoor was launched to avenge the Pahalgam attack, holding Pakistan-based terrorist groups responsible, including the Lashkar-e-Tabiba (late) offshoot, Resistance Morcha (TRF).
On Wednesday, the Indian armed forces shared details about Operation Sindoor. Addressing a press briefing in Delhi on Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh underlined the objectives of the operation and provided details on the terrorist camps destroyed.
Colonel Qureshi expanded the targeted camps, stating that four terrorist camps in Pakistan are Bahwalpur, Muridke, Sarjal and Mahmoon Joy.
He said, “The first is Sarjal Camp, Sialkot, which is within 6 km inside Pakistan … This is the camp where in March 2025, the terrorists involved in the murder of four Jammu and Kashmir police personnel received their training.”
He also highlighted the Mehmoon Zoya camp in Sialkot, 12–18 km inside Pakistan. “Second Mehmoon Zoya Camp, Sialkot, which is 12–18 km inside Pakistan … It is one of the biggest camps in Hezbul Mujahideen. It is one of the control centers to spread terrorism in the Jammu region.”
Qureshi said, “The camp planned and directed the attack on the Pathankot Air Force Base Camp.”
Pointing to Markz Taiba in Muridke, he said, “People involved in 2008 Mumbai terror attacks are trained here, including Ajmal Kasab and David Hedley”.
He also confirmed the destruction of Markz Subanallah in Bahawalpur, located at a distance of 100 km inside Pakistan, stating, “It was the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed, which was targeted by the Indian Armed Forces.”
Emphasizing the accuracy of the operation, Qureshi clarified, “No military establishment was targeted, and so far there is no report on the number of civil casualties in Pakistan.” (AI)
