PM Modi lauds young creators reviving Sanskrit, spirituality, culture through social media

New Delhi, Oct 26 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 127th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, praised the creativity of India’s youth and their deep connection with the country’s cultural roots.

He particularly praised the young content creators who are giving a modern identity to Sanskrit, spirituality, philosophy and music through social media platforms.

PM Modi said, “As soon as we hear the name Sanskrit, what comes to our mind are – our ‘religious texts’, ‘Vedas’, ‘Upanishads’, ‘Puranas’, Shastras, ancient knowledge and sciences, spirituality and philosophy. However, along with all this, at one time, Sanskrit was also the language of communication.

He said, “In that era, studies and research were conducted in Sanskrit. Dramatic performances were also conducted in Sanskrit. But unfortunately, during slavery and even after independence, Sanskrit faced constant neglect.”

He said that due to this neglect, the interest towards Sanskrit among the young generation has gradually decreased.

He said, “But friends, times are changing and the times of Sanskrit are also changing. The world of culture and social media has given a new life to Sanskrit. These days, many young people are doing very interesting work related to Sanskrit.”

Highlighting examples, PM Modi said, “If you go on social media, you will see many reels where young people are seen talking about Sanskrit. Many people also teach Sanskrit through their social media channels. One such young content creator is brother Yash Salunkhe. The special thing about Yash is that he is both a content creator and a cricketer. His reel on playing cricket while speaking in Sanskrit is very popular. remained Is.”

He also mentioned the efforts of sisters Kamala and Janhvi and described their work as “fantastic”, adding, “These two sisters create content on spirituality, philosophy and music.”

“There is another young man’s channel on Instagram named ‘Sanskrit Chatroham’. The young man running this channel not only provides information related to Sanskrit but also makes humorous videos in Sanskrit. The youth love these videos in Sanskrit. Many of you might have also seen Samashti’s videos. Samashti presents his songs in Sanskrit in countless ways. Another young man is Bhavesh Bhimanathani. Bhavesh Sanskrit Let’s talk about shlokas, spiritual philosophies and principles,” PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister said that language is the main carrier of culture and values.

He said, “Language is the carrier of values ​​and traditions of any civilization. Sanskrit has fulfilled this duty for thousands of years. It is heartening to see that some youth are now doing their duty towards Sanskrit as well.”
