Bhubaneswar, Oct 26 (IANS) Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati has said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appreciation of Koraput coffee in his weekly Mann Ki Baat program on Sunday will be a significant boost to the region’s coffee farmers, many of whom are women farmers.

Notably, PM Modi highlighted Odisha’s famous Koraput coffee during the 127th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday and said India’s coffee is “coffee at its finest – made in India and loved by the world”.
He said, “There are people in Koraput who are cultivating coffee because of their passion. They were doing good jobs in the corporate world… but they liked coffee so much that they came into this field and are now working in it successfully. There are also many women in whose lives coffee has brought a pleasant change.”
The Prime Minister praised the empowerment of women and the socio-economic transformation brought about by coffee farming in Koraput. “They have achieved both respect and prosperity through coffee. It is rightly said: Koraput coffee is truly delicious! It is truly the pride of Odisha,” he said, adding a line roughly translated from Odia.
