New Delhi, October 8 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the then Manmohan Singh -led UPA government of not attacking Pakistan due to pressure from any foreign country after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, after which the opposition on Wednesday questioned the BJP -led government’s decision to break its struggle. Many leaders said that the Prime Minister has a habit of citing history in a select manner.
Talking to IANS, senior leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav said, “We were very hopeful that the Indian Army would take steps to regain PoK, but why the Prime Minister suddenly announced a ceasefire? This pain is not only ours – This is not only ours. Why is the ceasefire of every Indian. Why did the ceasefire of every Indian. Shattered. ”
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey also criticized the Prime Minister’s comments, saying, “PM Modi has a habit of talking about history – from Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh – but he never talks about his 11 years in power. Does ‘good days’ come out? Were.” The ceasefire was announced after a tweet by PoK, but Donald Trump. Don’t just talk about 2008 – talk about 2025.
Congress MP Tariq Anwar said, “I think PM Modi should learn his history. In 1971, under the leadership of Congress and Indira Gandhi, we not only entered Pakistan, but we also changed the geography of the region. This is history. It seems that PM Modi has forgotten this.”
However, BJP leader Nitin Nabin defended the Prime Minister’s comments and action.
“Whatever PM Modi says, there was a time when the Prime Minister remained silent even after our soldiers were beheaded. But now, the action speaks more loudly than words. PM Modi has given a strong response through a surgical strike, whether it is Balakot or Operation Sindur. People of India have pride on PM Modi and armed forces.”
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Congress, inaugurating Phase 1 of the Navi Mumbai International Airport. He accused the Congress government of showing “weakness” in response to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and said that the political decisions of that time were affected by the pressure of a foreign country.
PM Modi said, “Mumbai is not only the financial capital, but one of the most vibrant cities in India. That is why it was attacked by terrorists in 2008. But at that time the Congress government gave a message of weakness.”
Referring to the recent interview of a former Congress Home Minister, PM Modi said, “A senior Congress leader recently revealed that our security forces were ready to attack Pakistan after the Mumbai attack. But the Congress government stopped him due to pressure from another country.”
