India has nominated Jot Singh Guntsola (INC), Ganesh Godiyal (INC), Pradeep Tamta (INC), Prakash Joshi (INC) and Virendra Rawat (INC) as candidates for Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Almora (SC), Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar and Haridwar Lok Sabha constituencies.

Uttarakhand’s two Lok Sabha seats – Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar and Almora – are in Kumaon district, while Haridwar, Tehri Garhwal and The remaining three seats in Garhwal (Paoli) are in Garhwal district.

The BJP, which won all assembly constituencies in Uttarakhand in the 2014 and 2019 general elections, is hoping to sweep all five Lok Sabha seats in Uttarakhand again.

Union Tourism and Defense Minister Ajay Bhatt won the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar seat in 2019, defeating the former chief by 3,39,096 votes Minister Harish Rawat. His margin of victory was the largest among the other four winning BJP candidates.
