Along with targeting Operation Sindoor and destroying terrorist bases, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a message to Pakistan that India’s blood is not to be shed, and whoever dare for it will be punished for it, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said during a public meeting in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

Shah is in the city to attend the function to give appointment letters to more than 60,000 newly selected police constables. On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath handed over letters to new recruitments.

Shah attacked the Congress for not being able to curb terrorist attacks across the country during the UPA -led years before 2014.

“Terrorist attacks were not even mentioned every day under Congress rule, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Coimbatore, Delhi, and Kashmir. Pakistan tried to attack India thrice during PM Modi’s rule. When he was trying in Uri, he met with a surgical strike.

Talking about the promise of eradication of Naxalism till 31 March 2026, Shah said how the spread of Naxalism has decreased from more than 11 states under the 11 -year rule under PM Modi.

“In 11 years of PM Modi, the country has become safe. Naxalism was prevalent in 11 states of the country. After these last 11 years of PM Modi, Naxalism is now present in only three districts. Do not forget my words: 313. By 2026, this country will be free from Naxalism by 2026,” he said.

Operation Sindoor was one of the reactions to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir by India in April. 26 people were killed, mostly tourists. Operation Sindoor was launched on 7 May, after which Pakistan retaliated and the Indian armed forces launched target attacks against terrorist infrastructure and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in more than 100 terrorists’ deaths associated with groups like Josh-E-Mohmd, Lash-Teni.

Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh and border areas, security forces are conducting several operations, along with various Naxal leaders killed in recent months. On 21 May, 27 Naxalites eradicated as a result of an encounter in the forests of Botter village.

In recent months, two highest profile cases have been the CPI (MAOIST) general secretary and member of the Political Bureau Basavraju alias Gaganna and Central Committee member Gautam (aka Sudhakar), and neutrality of Bhaskar.

According to government data, in the last ten years between 2014 and 2024, Naxal violence incidents have declined by 53 percent, which is compared to the earlier decade.

Between 2004 and 2014, data is mentioned in data, there were 16,463 incidents of Naxal violence. However, from 2014 to 2024, the number decreased to 7,744.
