Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the nation on the 79th Independence Day from the ramparts of the Red Fort, marked his 12th consecutive speech on the occasion and by doing so, on August 15, he crossed the record of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for the most gradual speeches.
Narendra Modi first addressed the nation as Prime Minister from Red Fort in 2014 and has now given a speech every year from 2014 to 2025 without any break.
Indira Gandhi gave 11 consecutive Independence Day addresses during her tenure, although she gave a total of 16 in her time in her time.
After Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the milestone makes PM Modi the second Indian Prime Minister to make a 12 Independence Day speech in a row, who still has the most frequent speeches with a total of 17.
Wearing a saffron turban, PM Modi started his address by greeting the nation on his 79th Independence Day, showing India’s progress in the last decades and excluding his government’s vision for ‘Wikis Bharat’, making the nation self -reliant.
He insisted on the importance of self -sufficiency under the ‘Autumnir Bharat’ initiative, urging youth, scientists and government departments to focus on the development of indigenous technologies from youth, scientists and government departments.
He praised this idea, Operation Sindoor is an example of such self -sufficiency and the power of ‘Made in India’.
In his address, the Prime Minister confirmed his support to protect the farmers, saying that he “stands as long as a wall against policies that are against the interests of the farmers.”
