Underscoring the commitment to provide the best education in the UAE, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that a new Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office will soon be set up in Dubai.

Addressing the ‘Ahlan Modi’ diaspora event rally in Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significant achievements in the education sector and said “more than 1.5 lakh Indian students are studying in UAE schools… Master’s program at IIT Delhi The campus was set up in Dubai last month and a new CBSE office will soon be opened in Dubai. These institutions will help provide the best education to the Indian community here.”

Speaking about the cultural ties between India and the UAE, Prime Minister Modi praised the close linguistic affinity between the two countries and hailed their achievements as a model for the world.

“In terms of community and culture, the achievements of Bharat and the UAE are examples for the world to emulate. The languages ​​of Bharat and the UAE are also close,” the Prime Minister added.

Recalling his first visit to the UAE in 2015, he expressed a feeling of cordiality and warmth, especially in the reception by the current president and crown prince.

Prime Minister Modi said: “I clearly remember my first visit to the UAE in 2015, soon after becoming Prime Minister. It was the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the UAE in three decades. I remember the warm welcome I received in the UAE. The Crown Prince (current President) and his five A brother picked me up at the airport. During that visit, I immediately felt a sense of intimacy, like visiting family.”

Apart from education initiatives, Prime Minister Modi also highlighted India’s global recognition of large-scale infrastructure projects, vibrant tourism and sports prowess.

“India is considered a vibrant tourist destination. India is considered a sports powerhouse. You will definitely feel proud to hear this news. You know the digital revolution in India. Digital India is appreciated across the world. To ensure that the people of India The UAE is also benefiting from this and we are making every effort. We have shared RuPay card packs with the UAE… UPI will be launched in the UAE soon. This way, seamless payments between UAE and Indian accounts will be possible,” the minister said.

In his speech, Prime Minister Modi also highlighted India’s growing influence on the world stage, saying, “Today, the world sees India as ‘Vishwa Bandhu’. Wherever there is a crisis, India’s name is the first to arrive One of the countries. Today’s powerful India stands with its people at every step.”

Enthusiasm among the Indian community is so high that organizers closed registration last week, with more than 65,000 people taking part.

The Prime Minister arrived in Abu Dhabi earlier in the day for a bilateral meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

India and the United Arab Emirates exchanged several MoUs, including on instant payments platform UPI and the UAE, in the presence of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan AANI Interconnected Memorandum of Understanding.

Addressing a gathering of the Indian community in the UAE, Prime Minister Modi said he brought the fragrance of the soil of their birth and conveyed the message that “Bharat is proud of you” to the 1.4 billion Indian citizens.

Prime Minister Modi, while addressing the ‘Alan Modi’ event at Zayed Stadium, said people from various parts of the UAE and different states in India gathered at the venue and “everyone’s heart is connected”.

Indian and UAE leaders are expected to inaugurate an Indian Institute of Technology campus in Delhi, UAE, in February 2022.

“This project is a joint collaboration between Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) and Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) to provide quality higher education opportunities to students across the globe,” an MEA statement said.

It will also foster partnerships between the two countries in next-generation technology, research and innovation. The first academic program – a master’s degree in energy transition and sustainable development – was launched in January this year, the statement added.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the BAPS Mandir, the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi tomorrow.

The Prime Minister will visit the UAE on February 13-14 and will then travel to Doha.
