Patna, October 30 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Push
Addressing a massive rally in Muzaffarpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD’s chief ministerial face Tejashwi Yadav and called them princes of corruption who are out on bail in billion-dollar scams.
Modi said, “In the electoral arena of Bihar, some young men (who consider themselves princes) have opened a shop of false promises.”
He said, “They insulted me and even Chhathi Maiya by calling the holy Chhath festival a drama. Can any Bihari tolerate such an insult to Chhathi Maiya? These privileged people cannot digest that a tea seller from a poor family has reached this position.”
The Prime Minister said that India Bloc leaders are afraid of going to Ayodhya after the construction of Ram temple, fearing that it will spoil their vote bank politics.
Describing Chhath Mahaparva as a festival of humanity and devotion, he reiterated his government’s commitment to include it in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Later, addressing another rally in Chapra, PM Modi dismissed the Grand Alliance attacks as a sign of infighting between the Congress and the RJD.
“Their relationship is like oil and water. Their workers on the ground are fighting each other, but the greed for power has brought them together,” he said.
He also alleged that RJD and Congress are identified by five things: guns, cruelty, bitterness, misgovernance and corruption. He said, “Those who kept Bihar in the lantern era can never bring electricity and those who looted the railways can never improve connectivity.”
In Lakhisarai, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also hit back at Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks on PM Modi and accused him of insulting the Prime Minister and Chhathi Maiya.
Campaigning for BJP candidate and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Shah said, “This is Bihar. The people here will give a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi and the Grand Alliance on November 6 and 11. When the ballot boxes open on November 14, everything will become clear.”
Shah accused the Lalu-Rabri regime of bringing “jungle raj” to Bihar, where kidnapping, extortion and killings were rampant.
Praising both the leaders for maintaining corruption-free governance, he said, “Nitish Kumar ended that jungle raj and brought an era of development. Together, Nitish and Modi have built a strong foundation for the future of Bihar.”
In Harsiddhi assembly constituency of Motihari, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Krishnanandan Paswan.
Dhami accused Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav of not having any roadmap for the development of Bihar and being engaged only in divisive politics.
He said, “Just as we stopped love jihad, conversion and illegal madrassas in Uttarakhand, a similar law will be brought in Bihar if NDA comes to power.”
He said that those who make fun of festivals like Chhath are anti-Sanatan Dharma.
Sharing the stage, HAM national president Santosh Suman mocked Tejashwi Yadav and said, “Some people dream of becoming chief minister at night and start making announcements in the morning. But Bihar does not need a government that brings back jungle raj.”
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, addressing a rally in Jamalpur constituency in Munger district, highlighted his government’s development achievements and attacked the Lalu family for promoting dynasty politics.
He said that before 2005 there was no rule of law in Bihar.
Nitish said, “People locked themselves in their homes after sunset. Roads collapsed, education collapsed and electricity disappeared. Development and rule of law returned to Bihar after 2005.”
Listing the achievements of his government, he mentioned recruitment of 2.58 lakh teachers through BPSC, free treatment and medicines since 2006 and opening of 27 new medical colleges.
He said that under the Saat Nishchay Yojana, 40 lakh people have got jobs and the target is to provide employment to one crore youth in the next five years.
Highlighting women empowerment, he said that 50 percent reservation has been provided in Panchayati Raj and 35 percent reservation in police force, with more than 1.40 crore Jeevika Didis actively participating in self-help initiatives.
He also announced 125 units of free electricity for every household and Rs 1,100 monthly pension for the elderly and disabled.
Nitish Kumar said that the state and central governments are working together for the progress of Bihar and targeted the opposition.
Kumar said, “When Lalu Prasad was removed from power, he made his wife the chief minister. This is his model of dynastic politics.”
