Patna, November 7 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a scathing attack on the RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar and alleged that the opposition was promoting a culture of intimidation and violence among the youth. Referring to a recent comment made from a platform of the Grand Alliance, he said that a young supporter had publicly announced that he would bring a Katta (pistol) when Tejashwi Yadav’s government comes to power.

Addressing an election rally in Aurangabad, the Prime Minister said, “The people of Jungle Raj have everything required to create an atmosphere of fear, extortion and kidnapping in Bihar. If they get power again, they will repeat the same.”

Stating that the people of Aurangabad understand the reality very well, he reminded that during the previous RJD-Congress rule, “Naxalism was at its peak and no one traveled at night; even riding a bike or scooter was not considered safe.”

According to him, the situation changed only after NDA came to power under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar in Bihar.

PM Modi also alleged that between 2005 and 2014 – the first nine years of Nitish Kumar’s government – the RJD and Congress governments at the Center did not allow him to run the state properly.

“After we were elected in 2014, the double engine government gave impetus to development. We have given three times more money to Bihar for development works,” he said.

Accusing the opposition alliance of being untrustworthy even towards its allies, Modi claimed that the RJD insulted the Congress state president and gave the party only those seats which it had not won in the last 35 to 40 years.

“Can the people of Bihar trust those who betray their own allies?” he asked.

PM Modi also attacked Congress on the issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP) for retired armed forces personnel and said the party denied OROP for 40 years citing its cost of Rs 500 crore.

He said, “When our government came, we implemented OROP. The NDA government has spent Rs 1 lakh crore on OROP. This is the reality of Congress. And RJD is also involved in this.”

The Prime Minister alleged that the RJD manifesto is a false propaganda and claimed that even Congress leaders are not supporting it.

”They know they are lying,” he said. On the contrary, he stressed that the NDA had promised one crore jobs for the youth in Bihar and people have faith in the alliance’s commitments.

Listing the NDA’s past promises, PM Modi said the alliance has fulfilled promises like abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and providing Rs 10,000 assistance to women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana.

“Delivering on promises is our track record,” he said.

He further alleged that the RJD has a track record of giving jobs in exchange for land, adding: “Their manifesto is false.”

Referring to the first phase of voting in Bihar on Thursday, PM Modi said that there was a record voting of almost 65 per cent, he claimed that the parties of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rahul Gandhi have been completely wiped out.

According to him, the people of Bihar will not allow the return of Jungle Raj.

He said women voters especially have faith in PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar and have given “bumper votes” for NDA candidates.

PM Modi also targeted Congress over agricultural policy and said that the party never cared for small farmers.

He said the Center currently provides Rs 6,000 annually under PM-Kisan, and if returned to power in the state, the NDA government will provide an additional Rs 3,000, taking the total annual assistance to Rs 9,000.
