Pitrupasha 2024: Shraddha Paksha will begin on September 17. The event will conclude on October 2 at Sarvapitri Amavasya. The special importance of Pitru Paksha is mentioned in the scriptures. It is said that on the days of Pitru Paksha, our ancestors come to earth to bless us. On these holy days, those who perform the correct Shraddha of their ancestors and pray for the peace of their souls, their lives are always happy.
You must have heard about the tradition that Shraddha can be performed in Pitru Paksha only in Sanatan Dharma. But did you know that a veteran Hollywood actor also performed Shraddha for the peace of his late son’s soul. Not only this, the actor also performed his son’s Shraddha with complete rituals in Haridwar.
We are talking about American actor Sylvester Stallone, also known to fans as Rocky. In 2015, Sylvester Stallone performed Shraddha for his son Sage Stallone. In 2012, Sylvester’s son was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment. It was initially learned that he died from a drug overdose. But then the heart attack came to light.
After his son’s death, Sylvester was completely devastated. His entire family experienced a deep shock. Then suddenly in 2015, the issue was discussed again when Sylvester called an astrologer in Rishikesh and told him that he could see his dead son. The astrologer then suggested that he should perform complete rituals for his dead son.
Even though Sylvester was a Christian, he agreed to have his son baptized. But Sylvester knew it would not be easy to baptize his son in India. Therefore, he gave the responsibility of conducting his son’s Shraddha to his brother Michael and his wife.
As per the scriptures, any family member (blood relative) can perform Shraddha for the deceased. It is noteworthy that he performed Shraddha on Pitru Paksha day, which is the day Shraddha is performed for those who lost their lives in accidents or murders.
