We are very much back!

President Trump brought back Christmas and made it okay to say “Merry Christmas” again…

Melania Trump brings elegance and class back to White House Christmas decorations…

And now Pete Hegseth is doing his part, making Christmas history at the Pentagon by planting a new “permanent” Christas tree that will grow 30 feet tall and live for at least 50 years.

We are gathered here at the Pentagon to celebrate the blessings of the Christmas season and, a few months ago, my wife said, “Babe, President Trump brought back Merry Christmas. We’re going to bring Christmas back to the Pentagon.” And that’s what we’re doing.

We’re going to burn a new, permanent Christmas tree and it’s a beautiful Christmas tree: a 14-foot Nellie Stevens holly from Chantilly, Virginia, local.

They say that when the tree was planted, bald eagles were flying over it, true story. Fitting for this building.

It will grow 30 feet tall and live for at least 50 years, a fitting tribute to the warrior ethos here.

It replaced a small serviceberry tree that had to be removed anyway, so it made sense.

Trump, 55, looked at ease as he greeted a horse-drawn carriage with the giant evergreen he grows in the central Michigan town of Sidney.

“It’s going to be beautiful! We’re going to plan, and it starts today,” said the first lady, wearing a long white coat, red gloves and plaid Manolo Blahnik heels, on the White House’s north driveway.

President Trump did not attend the event after spending the morning on the phone with Chinese President Xi Jinping as his foreign policy team sought to seal the Russia-Ukraine peace deal by a self-imposed Thanksgiving deadline.

But in reality there is much more to the story than just this.

And this is even more prophetic!

PenguinSix, which you may recognize from its prolific local reporting, reports that this was not the original White House tree.

No, actually the original tree contracted a disease and died!

This is the replacement tree:

The White House Christmas tree, a live tree planted just outside the Ellipse, is dead. Disease destroyed the tree, so the Park Service decided for the first time in 50 years that we would keep a cut Christmas tree as the National Tree. All was well, until the winds blew and blew that tree down. I was there when activists tried to get it back up, but then I went to the US Capitol to see the lighting of the tree with the Speaker of the House. But it was disrupted by some Gaza Palestine protesters, who were immediately arrested by US Capitol Police.
