People in Taiwan change their name to salmon to get free sushi

People in Taiwan are changing their name to salmon after a restaurant launched an offer to give free sushi to people with the same name.

According to CNN, people in Taiwan are going the extra mile to take advantage of a restaurant deal that allows them to have free sushi. On Monday, a restaurant chain called Sushiro announced that they would offer sushi for free to anyone, whose name includes Chinese characters for “salmon”, a key ingredient of fragility.

After the announcement, people changed their names and ran to salmon. Things got out of hand that Taiwan’s interior ministry stepped in and urged people to think carefully before changing their name.

As part of the proposal, the restaurant is offering the person free food, and five guests, after showing proof of their name on their official ID.
