People have gone to Pakistan, people there want good relations with India: Pawan Bansal

Chandigarh, September 21 (IANS) while the relations between India and Pakistan were enraged and stressed after the Pahgam terror attacks on 22 April, Congress leader Pawan Bansal blamed it as the main obstacle for general relations on the subsequent anti-India mentality.

However, Bansal said that unlike the Pakistani establishment, people and the public in general, want good relations with India, and they felt this feeling during their previous visits to the neighboring nation.

The Congress leader said, “I have gone there, and I can say that talks have taken place, and people from both sides want peace, but the Pakistani government and the system do not seem ready. Their attitude is completely inspired by anti-India sentiments. Therefore, good relations will probably not be fully established,” the Congress leader said.

Pawan Bansal’s comment on the “inclination” of Pakistan’s citizens is in a fierce line on the controversial statement of Sam Pitroda, the head of the Indian Foreign Congress (IOC), where he attracted similarities among the people of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh and said ‘When he went there’ when he went there.

Pawan Bansal further told IANS that India always wanted good and progressive relations with its neighbors, but Pakistan, especially, never respects India’s feelings.

“Pakistan has steadily promoted terrorism and unrest in our country by sending terrorists and fanning terror in India. As long as it continues, good relations cannot exist. The only agenda of Pakistan’s establishment is to spread the anti-India rhetoric, and it is also the basis of their existence,” he said.
