Patna, Oct 10 (IANS) Bhojpuri singer and actor Pawan Singh’s wife Jyoti Singh met Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishore at Sheikhpura House in Patna on Friday.
After the meeting, Jyoti Singh clarified that her visit was not politically motivated and she had no intention of contesting elections or seeking a ticket from the party.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Jyoti Singh said, “I have not come here to ask for a ticket or to contest elections. My only objective is to ensure that no other woman has to face the injustice that happened to me. I want to be the voice of all those oppressed women. With this in mind, I had come to meet Prashant Kishor. No topic related to elections or ticket was raised in our conversation.”
Responding to the meeting, Prashant Kishore said that Jyoti Singh had contacted him purely on social and humanitarian grounds.
Kishore said, “Jyoti Singh met me as a Bihari woman. She neither talked about contesting the elections nor asked for a ticket. She is facing serious injustice and wants that no other woman in Bihar should have to go through such a situation.”

“I clearly told him that he should fight his battle within the ambit of the law,” Kishore said.
Clarifying further, the Jan Suraj founder called Pawan Singh his friend and said that he would not comment on his family issues.
He said, “Pawan Singh is my friend, and I will not comment on his family matters. But if Jyoti Singh has come to meet me, it is my duty to listen to him as part of my social responsibility. He has not made any personal or political demand from me.”
