Pawan Singh meets Upendra Kushwaha in Delhi, which is likely to join BJP

Patna, September 30 (IANS) popular Bhojpuri singer and actor Pawan Singh met Upendra Kushwaha, a member of Rajya Sabha and head of the Assembly Morcha Morcha in Delhi on Tuesday, where he later blessed him and welcomed his decision to work for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The meeting is seen as an important harmony, as Kushwaha was partially shocked in the Lok Sabha elections due to Pawan Singh’s independent candidature.

His clear Trus is seen as a major relief for the BJP, aimed at strengthening the support between both Rajput and Kushwaha communities before the Bihar elections.

Connecting the party again on Singh, BJP Bihar in -charge Vinod Tawde confirmed Singh’s induction, saying, “Pawan Singh is in BJP and will remain the same. Upendra Kushwaha has blessed him. He will work actively for NDA in the upcoming elections.”

BJP leader Rituraj Sinha was also present during the meeting.

Pawan Singh, often referred to as the power star of Bhojpuri cinema, is expected to formally join the BJP in the first week of October.

Party strategists believe that Singh’s large -scale fans across Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh will give BJP a strong lead in the upcoming assembly elections.

In 2024, Pawan Singh’s independent run from Karkat Lok Sabha seat was widely convicted for Kushwaha’s defeat, despite that he was a NDA candidate.

Singh’s move divided the votes, and the decline was felt beyond Karakat – Rajput voter Anger on Singh’s earlier treatment was cited as a factor in the loss of NDA in Petliputra, Ara, Baksar, Shakharam, Aurangabad, Karkat and Jahanabad.

In 2024, the BJP gave Singh a Lok Sabha ticket from Asansol (West Bengal), but Singh rejected the nomination, claiming that he was pressurized to accept it.

His subsequent independent candidature in Karkat deepened changes with the Rajput voters, especially within the NDA, who saw his “sideline” as an insult.
