New Delhi, 6 October (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday criticized a cruel attack on a BJP MP in West Bengal, stating that the incident reflects the insensitivity of Trinumool Congress and “pathetic” law and order situation.
In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi said, “The manner in which our party colleagues, including a sitting MP and MLA, were attacked in West Bengal to serve the people affected by floods and landslides, is a lump sum. It is a lump sum. It highlights the status and order in the state with the insensitivity of TMC.”
He said, “I want the West Bengal government and TMC to focus more on helping people instead of indulging in violence in such a challenging situation.
BJP leader Amit Malviya, in -charge of the party’s National Information and Technology Department, also targeted the Trinmool Congress in West Bengal for alleged unrighteousness.

Earlier on Monday, BJP workers and supporters took out a protest rally in Kolkata to condemn the attack on party MP Khagan Murmu.
BJP workers took out a procession from West Bengal BJP headquarters to college square and Central Avenue.
He also burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and demanded strong action against those responsible for the attack.
The rally was led by the party’s northern Kolkata leader Tamogna Ghosh.
The BJP staged a sit-in protest to mark its opposition and burnt the tire.
He also took a picture of Khagan Murmu after the attack on him.
“There is Trinmool Congress behind this attack. Our (BJP) MPs were seriously injured in the attack. We want strong action against criminals. The Chief Minister should be ashamed that an elected MP is being attacked like this,” Ghosh said.
After the vehicle of BJP MP Khagan Murmu and party MLA Shankar Ghosh, Bamandanga, a group of people, allegedly attacked him by Trinamool Congress supporters.
“They attacked us (BJP) vehicle with sticks and rods and started stoning our vehicle. Murmu was hit by a stone on his head, causing severe bleeding. Our vehicle was also heavy damaged,” said MLA Shankar Ghosh.
