New Delhi, 6 October (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday criticized a cruel attack on a BJP MP in West Bengal, stating that the incident reflects the insensitivity of Trinumool Congress and “pathetic” law and order situation.

In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi said, “The manner in which our party colleagues, including a sitting MP and MLA, were attacked in West Bengal to serve the people affected by floods and landslides, is a lump sum. It is a lump sum. It highlights the status and order in the state with the insensitivity of TMC.”

He said, “I want the West Bengal government and TMC to focus more on helping people instead of indulging in violence in such a challenging situation.

BJP leader Amit Malviya, in -charge of the party’s National Information and Technology Department, also targeted the Trinmool Congress in West Bengal for alleged unrighteousness.

“Jungle Raj of TMC in Bengal! BJP MP Khagen Murmu, a respected tribal leader and two -time MP from North Malda, attacked by TMC goons, while rain, floods and lands to help Nagkata’s way in Duers area of Jalpaiguri, and on land.

“While Mamata Banerjee dances in her Kolkata Carnival, TMC and state administration are missing in action. Those who actually help people, BJP leaders and kayakarts, are being attacked to do relief work. It is TMC’s Bengal, where cruelty and compassion is punished,” he said.

Earlier on Monday, BJP workers and supporters took out a protest rally in Kolkata to condemn the attack on party MP Khagan Murmu.

“There is Trinmool Congress behind this attack. Our (BJP) MPs were seriously injured in the attack. We want strong action against criminals. The Chief Minister should be ashamed that an elected MP is being attacked like this,” Ghosh said.
