‘Passion, growth, commitment’: Union minister defines India’s youth

Anurag Thakur said young people are shaping India’s future.

New Delhi:

Union Minister Anurag Thakur today said that the youth or youth of the country are fully committed to the development of India.

“Yuva means empowerment, development, passion, growth and commitment,” Mr. Thakur said at the NDTV Yuva Conclave.

“Yuva in India is so committed that the country has become the third largest startup hub in the last 10 years,” he said.

He said that youth are shaping the future of India and the word “yuva” has nothing to do with age.

“When I look at Prime Minister Modi, when he flies a Tejas fighter jet or goes on a deep-sea dive, I realize that being a youth means you think and work,” he said.

Mr. Thakur said there is a lot of awareness among today’s youth, adding that they also know their rights.

Thakur claimed that his boss, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was the best because he worked strictly but was friendly to Indian citizens.

“Most people here have their own bosses. But my boss, Prime Minister Modi, is the best. He is the strictest at work but the kindest to the citizens of India,” Mr Thakur said.

“He has not taken a single leave in 23 years. Even when his mother died, he just took a 2-hour break at the funeral and then went back to work. This is the Prime Minister’s promise,” he added.

India’s biggest youth disruptors from the worlds of politics, film, music and comedy gathered today for NDTV’s Yuva – Youth For Change mega conclave
