Parramatta playmaker Dylan Brown arrested, charged with sexual touching

The Kiwi playmaker was arrested on Saturday night after NSW Police officers attended eastern suburbs night spot The Golden Sheaf following reports of sexual touching.

The Daily Telegraph first reported the 22-year-old has been charged with five counts of sexual touching.

Police have also taken out an interim apprehended violence order (AVO).

NSW Police have released a holding statement.

“About 11.40pm Saturday (3 June 2023), officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were called to a hotel on South Head Road, Double Bay, following a report of sexual touching,” the statement read.

“Officers arrested a 22-year-old man who was taken to Waverley Police Station.

“The man has been charged with sexually touch another person without consent.”

News Corp reports police will allege Brown groped a woman multiple times.

Brown has been granted bail and will appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday.

Brown had been enjoying a week off with his team given a bye for this weekend’s round of matches.

The club issued a statement on Sunday: “The Parramatta Eels have been made aware of an incident involving Dylan Brown last night.

“The Club has advised the NRL integrity unit as per our normal process.

“As it is a police matter, the Club will not be making further comment at this time.”

In a statement, an NRL spokesperson said: “The NRL Integrity Unit is aware of the matter and is liaising with the Parramatta Eels and NSW Police.”

Brown last year committed his future to the Eels with a three-year contract extension through to the end of the 2025 NRL season.
