Parents accused of dumping infant daughter in rubbish-strewn woods

The parents of a three-month-old girl dumped in the woods in New York allegedly dressed the infant in a hat and onesie and put her in a stroller so they could sneak her body out of their Bronx shelter without raising concern.

The baby’s father, Damion Comager, 23, appeared before Bronx Criminal Court on charges of murder, manslaughter and concealment of a human corpse in the death of his young daughter Genevieve Rozzlyn Comager, reports the New York Post.

Comager is accused of shaking the child before he and his girlfriend Ivana Paolozzi, 20, allegedly dumped her remains in a wooded area near Yankee stadium, where she was found on Sunday night.

“Both defendants changed her diaper, placed her in a onesie and a hat, wrapped her in a blanket, and placed her in the stroller,” Assistant District Attorney Serena Newell told the court.

“The defendant pushed that stroller containing Genevieve’s corpse out of the shelter where they were living, successfully prompting no inspection or questions from the shelter staff.”

Newell added that the pair “placed their daughter Genevieve’s body into a garbage bag and disposed of said garbage bag and the baby stroller into a wooded area amongst massive trash”.

Paolozzi has been charged with concealment of a human corpse, tampering with evidence and obstructing governmental administration.

Newell argued that Paolozzi posed a “significant flight risk” due to being in possession of a Swiss passport while in the US on an expired visa.

The criminal complaint against Paolozzi alleges that she “stated that the defendants and their daughter, Genevieve Comager, were all alive, safe and had relocated to Louisiana” when, in fact, the infant had been dead for two weeks.

The parents were arrested after Comager allegedly confessed the crime to his father, who then contacted the police.

Donald Comager told The Post that Comager admitted to shaking the baby when she wouldn’t stop crying, and later found her “stiff” and “cold”.
