According to ARY News, the National Assembly (NA) Secretariat has announced the timetable for Pakistan to hold the Prime Ministerial Election on March 3.

The newly sworn-in MNA will participate in the voting process for the post of Prime Minister on Sunday.

According to the schedule released by the National Assembly Secretariat, prime ministerial candidates can submit nomination documents before 2 pm on March 2. The final list of candidates will be announced after the nomination documents have been reviewed.

Nomination papers are available from the legislative branch and candidates are required to submit them to the Congressional Secretariat.

Notably, Shehbaz Sharif has been nominated by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and other allies, while the Sunni Ittehad Committee (SIC) Nominate Omar Ayoub as candidate.

The 16th National Assembly began proceedings earlier in the day and the newly elected members of the National Assembly were sworn in by Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf. The meeting, scheduled to be held at 10 am, started after 11 am in a volatile atmosphere, with PTI-backed lawmakers allied with the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) surrounding the speaker’s dais.

On February 20, SIC chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza announced the party’s intention to nominate its prime minister, as PTI-backed independent members began joining the religious party.

Previously, on February 13, PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif nominated his brother and party chairman Shehbaz Sharif as prime minister, while PML-N senior vice president Maryam Nawaz was nominated as prime minister. Chief Ministership of Punjab.
