According to defense sources, Pakistani drones were seen in Jammu, Samba, Pathankot sector on Friday.
The red stripes could be seen and the explosions were heard in the Samba sector of Jammu as India’s air defense stopped the Pakistani drone amid blackouts.
Meanwhile, a precautionary blackout has been implemented in many areas amidst escalating tension between India and Pakistan.
The entire blackout is applied, Akhanur and Udhampur region of Jammu and Kashmir; Ambala and Panchkula areas of Haryana.
Blackout has also been implemented in Ferozepur in Punjab and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.
Pakistan has so far violated Ceasfire for another day. On Thursday, the Pakistani Army targeted the Indian military infrastructure and infiltrated several airplanes on the night of 7 and 8 May.
Addressing a press briefing on Friday, Colonel Sophia Qureshi revealed that 36 to 400 drones were deployed at 36 locations, many of which were shot by Indian forces using both kinetic and non-kenitic methods. Initial investigation shows that the drone was Turkish -made Asisguard Songs model.
Colonel Sophia Qureshi said during the press briefing, “On the night of May 7 and 8, the Pakistani Army violated Indian airspace several times on the entire western border to target the military infrastructure. Not that not, the Pakistani Army removed heavy-caliber weapons along the line of control.
He said, “Indian armed forces shot many of these drones using kinetic and nonic means. Such massive aerial infiltration was to test air defense systems and gather intelligence information. Forensic investigation of drone debris is being tested. Preliminary reports show that they are Turkish Asisgard Songs …”
Pakistan’s effort came in view of Operation Sindoor in India, where the Indian armed forces on Wednesday targeted nine terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir. Operation was a direct reply to the Pahgam terror attack on 22 April. (AI)
