Pakistan on Wednesday released fast bowler Hasan Ali from its team ahead of the first T20 International against England in Leeds on Wednesday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that since senior fast bowler Haris Rauf has regained match fitness, Hasan has been released to fulfill his commitments in English county cricket. Hasan was initially selected in the 18-man squad to travel to Ireland and is now in England as cover for Haris who has been recovering from a back problem since February.
Hasan took part in a T20 international match in Ireland but conceded a lot of runs.
England players will go to USA and West Indies for the World T20 Cup. Pakistan is the only country that has not announced its 15-man World Cup squad.
Batsmen Agha Ali Salman and Irfan Niazi, who are in England, are expected to be named as traveling reserves for the mega event.
The Pakistan and England series is the last T20 commitment of both the teams before the World Cup. The England players, who were part of the IPL, have all returned from India for the four-match series.
