Islamabad:
Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir said on Monday that any act of aggression or violation of the country’s territorial sovereignty would be responded to with national determination and military might.
“The Pakistan Army is familiar with the entire threat spectrum and is ready to respond effectively,” Munir said, accusing India of targeting individuals in Pakistan.
During his visit to the LoC section in Saryan, he was briefed on the latest situation along the LoC.
Pakistan claimed last month that it had “credible evidence” linking what it called “Indian agents” to the assassinations of two Pakistani terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
India has dismissed Pakistan’s allegations that Indian agents were involved in the assassination of two Pakistani terrorists in Sialkot and Rawakot last year, calling it “false and malicious” propaganda.
“This is Pakistan’s latest attempt to peddle false and malicious anti-India propaganda,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in New Delhi.
Pakistan will “repay the consequences of its own misdeeds,” he said, adding that “blaming other countries for its wrongdoings is neither a justification nor a solution.” General Munir accompanied caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Khalifa earlier in the day Kakkar and so-called Kashmiri Prime Minister Anwar Haq visited Muzaffarabad on the occasion of Pakistan’s annual Kashmir Day celebrations on February 5.
