"Pahalgam attack is only an example of cross-border terrorism": Mea on America calls Pakistan counter-terrorist partner

Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) spokesman Randhir Jaiswal on Thursday called the terrorist attack “recent example of cross -border terrorism” in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir.

During the weekly media briefing, Jaiswal recalled how one of the 26/11 conspirators, Tahwur Rana, was recently extradited from America to India and also mentioned how Osama bin Laden was sheltered in Pakistan.

Asked how India sees American statements that Pakistan could be a partner when it comes to anti -terrorism cooperation, he replied, “Look at Pakistan’s record, Pakistan is actually very clear, we all know for the United States, for the United States, none of us forgot that Pakistan gave shelter to Osama bin Laden.

His remarks were “an unprecedented partner in the world of terrorism,” Dawn on Wednesday after the United States Central Commander, Commander, Army General Michael Kurila. Dawn said that during the hearing of a House Armed Services Committee in Washington on Tuesday, General Kurila said that Pakistan had caught several “high-value” IS-ke operators. He commented in response to a question about the situation on the Afghan border with Pakistan.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that this is not a conflict between India and Pakistan, but a response to the threat of terrorism in Brussels. He reiterated India’s policy of zero tolerance for terrorism and not a yield of atomic blackmail.

When asked about the Indo-Pakistani struggle during a joint press conference with a high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy, Kaj Kallas on Tuesday replied, Jaishankar, “I would like to understand that it is not a conflict between the two states. It really requests danger and terrorism practice. Praise it.”

He said that terrorism is a “shared and mutual challenge” for the international community. He emphasized that it is important to have strong international cooperation on the matter.

“We strongly believe that all its forms and manifestations should have zero tolerance for terrorism. In that context, it is also necessary that we never yield for nuclear blackmail. It is a shared and interconnected challenge for the global community, and it is important that there is strong international cooperation and understanding on the matter.”

India launched Operation Sindor on 7 May on 7 April as a decisive military response to the Pahgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. The Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, causing more than 100 militants associated with terrorist organizations such as Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

After the attack, Pakistan attempted drone attacks with border across the border across the line of control, after which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centers and airbases in Pakistan. On May 10, India and Pakistan agreed to end the enmity. (AI)
