Over 200 women personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the world’s largest paramilitary force, marched on the duty path during the 75th Republic Day parade in the national capital. Constable Sosa Alpaben led the CRPF band comprising 100 women personnel playing ‘Desh Ke Hum Hain Rakshak’.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has the distinction of raising one of the first all-women band contingents and is the largest para-military force in the world, with 246 battalions with over 3.24 lakh personnel.

During the 75th Republic Day celebrations, an all-women tri-service contingent marched on the duty path, reflecting the growing ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power) of the country.

For the first time, the parade was started by more than 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments like shankha, nadaswaram and nagda, instead of the traditional military band.
