Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants took to social media to react to their captain KL Rahul not being selected for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Rahul was not included in the 15-member team as well as the reserves. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected two specialist wicketkeepers – Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant. LSG posted a picture of Rahul on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and captioned it – “Our No. 1 since Day Zero”.

Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2024 and all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be the vice-captain. Hardik has not enjoyed good form in IPL 2024, but he was selected as a middle-order batting option and a fast bowling asset.

As a result, India picked only three specialist pacers – Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh – while the pair of Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed found a place in the reserves.

Experienced spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will make a strong comeback in the team after a good performance in IPL 2024 and he will recreate the famous ‘Kul-Cha’ partnership with Kuldeep Yadav.

The two all-rounder options will be Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel who will strengthen the batting line-up and will also be valuable left-arm off-spin bowlers for the Indian cricket team.

There is still speculation about Virat Kohli opening the batting with Rohit Sharma as BCCI has selected only one more opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, in the 15-member squad.
