Ottawa Cutted Confederation Bridge Toll

Prime Minister Mark Carney says that the tolls on the Confederation Bridge of Prince Edward Island will be reduced from August 1, along with other Atlantic travel fees.

From Friday, the bridge toll for an average vehicle will fall from $ 50.25 to $ 20.

The government is cutting fare in half for passengers, vehicles and commercial traffic, supporting Eastern Canada boating services, and ending all fuel surcharge for those services.

A constitutionally compulsory boating service connecting Nova Scotia and Newfoundland will reduce the fare of the passenger by 50 percent and freeze the commercial freight rates.

Marine Atlantic service is responsible for carrying 65 percent of goods, who travel from Newfoundland.

Carney says that the fee cut aims to promote internal mobility, which is part of the government’s plan to reduce internal trade obstacles in response to the US trade war.
