An 18 -year -old man from Oshwa is facing several allegations after a deadly head collided on highway 48, claiming the life of a 35 -year -old man and injured four others.
The accident occurred on Sunday, 3 August before 9:30 pm, which was between St. John Siderow and Balantre Commons in the Baltre area of Whichurch-Staffville.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Arora troop officials responded to the spot, where a person was declared dead and four passengers were rushed to the hospital with separate injuries.
According to the police, the driver of the second vehicle ran away from the scene, but shortly after, York was located with the help of Regional Police. He was taken into custody without any incident.
Oshwa’s 18 -year -old Jayavin Kirubanthan died due to dangerous driving, physical damage in three cases of dangerous driving, failed to live in an accident scene, resulting in death, and public mischief.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday 8 August.
