Oreo Raising eyebrows with his latest creation: Zero Sugar Chocolate Sandwich Cookies,
The brand announced the product earlier this week, which tastes exactly like the signature Oreo cookie. Although Cookies is scheduled to be released in the US in January, no specific date has been shared.
Unlike regular Oreos — which contain about five grams of sugar per cookie – latest Oreo Has zero grams of sugar.
Instead of sugar, the cookie contains artificial sweeteners, such as sucralose and acesulfame potassium (also known as Ace-K). The cookies also contain sorbitol, a sugar alcohol derived from glucose that is naturally found in some fruits. Other ingredients used to help achieve sweetness are maltitol, a sugar alcohol, and polydextrose, which is often used as a source of dietary fiber.
However, people on X raised questions about the hard-to-pronounce ingredients and how healthy they are.

One quipped, “Reading that list of ingredients makes it feel like I haven’t taken a chemistry test.” While another wrote: “General rule of thumb, if you can’t pronounce the ingredient, it’s probably not good.”
“Why won’t you put it?” Asbestos In them at this point,” a third wrote, mentioning micro fiber Which can get trapped in the lungs and cause cancer.
“All these mystery ingredients? Just take the sugar, or find something else to eat,” tweeted a fourth, while another agreed: “Those 4 words sound a lot more unhealthy for you than sugar.”
Someone else said, “Bet they taste terrible and are worse for your health than real natural sugar.”
Independent Oreo has been contacted for comment.
According to Oreo, the new product includes 10 bags each containing two cookies to help “control your portions and your sweet-toothed companions.”
The product description reads, “Oreo Zero Sugar delivers the classic taste of an Oreo, while allowing you to maintain your health and wellness goals.”
It’s difficult to compare nutrition data on Zero Sugar and regular Oreos because the serving sizes differ.
Two Oreo Zero Sugar cookies contain 90 calories, 4.5 grams of fat and 16 grams of carbohydrates. One serving of regular Oreos, defined as three cookies, contains 160 calories, 7 grams of fat and 25 grams of carbohydrates.
Last month, Oreo made headlines when it launched a special cookie flavor in honor of Thanksgiving. The online-exclusive and limited-time “Oreo Thanksgiving Dinner Cookie Tin” included 12 fudge-covered cookies in six different flavors, including Pumpkin Pie, Cranberry Sauce, Sweet Potato, Creamed Corn, Caramel Apple Pie, and Turkey and Stuffing.
