Lucknow, October 21 (IANS) While the country and its countrymen celebrated the festival of lights with full enthusiasm and gaiety, the city’s sky lit up with patriotic colors and kites on Monday, adding to the festive cheer and Diwali celebrations.

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the story of two cities of Uttar Pradesh – Ayodhya and Lucknow made headlines for its uniqueness. The birthplace of Lord Ram created a new record in lamp lighting, while the capital came into limelight due to Operation Sindoor.

In Lucknow, a series of kites decorated with patriotic tunes hit the markets and received support from the local public. Many residents gathered at these concessions to purchase indigenous kites, reflecting the valor of the armed forces and celebrating the successful military strikes against Pakistani terrorist hideouts under Operation Sindoor.

These kites sought to showcase the valor of the Indian Army and Air Force in Operation Sindoor and also displayed photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the festival.

The pictures of Operation Sindoor hero Colonel Sophia and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh were also printed on the kites that were being sold.

Traders and shopkeepers said that these kites received an overwhelming response from residents as they were seen buying them in large numbers.

“India has grown in strength and confidence under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to reflect that feeling, they have filled their kites with patriotic colours,” kite maker cum shopkeeper Salman Ansari told IANS.

He said it was an opportunity for people to show their patriotic spirit in the sky and hence found a connect with people of all ages.

Stating that it had been his family business for a long time, he informed that there is a huge demand for the Oop Sindoor-themed kites, and he was running out of stock.

“Around 5,000 kites based on the Operation Sindoor theme were made. The stock has been sold out, only a few kites are left,” he said.
