Kulgam, August 03: Officials said the encounter between hiding security forces and militants in Akhhal forest area of Kulgam district of South Kashmir entered its third day on Sunday, in which the fire continues to stop and overnight.
He said the operation was started on Friday when the security forces received reliable inputs about the presence of terrorists in Akhhal’s dense forest belt.
Officials said, “So far, two terrorists have been killed in the encounter, while another is considered injured. A soldier also faced injuries and is currently subject to treatment,” the authorities said.
Officials said high -tech monitoring equipment, including drones and thermal imaging equipment, with elite para special forces, are participating in the operation.
DGP and General Officer Commanding (GOC) are closely monitoring the situation, including senior police and army, including 15 corps.
The operation is still going on.
