OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Reveals ChatGPT Isn’t Their Most-Used App—Here’s Why

Sam Altman is the CEO of OpenAI.

On Microsoft founder Bill Gates’ podcast, ‘Unconfuse Me with Bill Gates,’ Altman talked about his most-used phone app and why it’s not ChatGPIT.

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the company that makes generic AI chatbot-ChatGPT, has revealed the most used apps on his phone. And no, it’s not ChatGPT, as you might have guessed.

On Microsoft founder Bill Gates’ podcast ‘Unconfuse Me with Bill Gates’, Gates asked Altman about his most-used phone app. Altman revealed that his most used app is Slack, the popular team communication app. Apple’s iMessage came in second place, and this also confirms that Altman uses an iPhone as his primary device.

“Loose. I wish I could say ChatGPT. Then in second place is iMessage,” Altman told Gates while discussing the most-used applications on his phone. “I didn’t count the browser as an app at all. It’s possible that I’ll use it more, but I’d still bet on Slack. I’m on Slack all day,” he said.

That said, Slack has become the go-to team communication app for countless organizations thanks to its functional and feature-rich interface. Given that Sam Altman is the CEO of OpenAI, his usage of the app naturally increases.

Bill Gates says Microsoft Outlook is his most-used phone app

As expected, Gates also took no time in sharing his most used app – Microsoft Outlook. He uses Outlook for his email, and secondly, Gates chose his phone’s web browser to surf the web and read news articles.

The podcast then discusses how both Altman and Gates are concerned about the rapid pace at which everyday people and seasoned experts alike will have to learn to adapt. Altman also talked about his dismissal and subsequent reappointment as OpenAI CEO last November, and how Microsoft’s Satya Nadella wanted to hire him and several other OpenAI employees.
