Damaged F-16s and Swedish-built AWACS until radar systems and command Centrees-India’s Operation Sindoor severely crippled many Pakistani Air Force bases in May this year, left the country for immediate repair, special documents and high-level confirmies have been accessed by CNN-NEWS18.
The revelations of the damage caused by the airstrikes, which level the terrorist havan in Pakistan and after the Pahgam terror attack on 9–10 May, to fly in front of the neighbor’s claim, no aircraft was hit or destroyed.
CNN-NEWS18 has learned that the Indian strike damaged the important Pakistani military infrastructure, including Swedish-built Saab 2000 ERE AWACS, a lockheed C-130 and at least four F-16 fighter fighter jets. Many radar systems, commands and control units, and air defense installations also hit the target missile strikes in many airbases.
One of the most important hits occurred in the PAF Bholari Airbase, where the F -16 jet parked in a hanger was destroyed, resulting in five PAF personnel, which included a squadron leader and chief technician. AWACS Erieye, also hit Bholari, was later blown immediately by US Air Force engineers.
Further damage was reported:
PAF Shahbaz Air Base (Jacobabad)-Two F-16s were destroyed in Hangar
Noor Khan Airbase (Rawalpindi) -An F -16 and a C -130 hit in an accurate strike
The infrastructure such as Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, and Mushf Airbase – runways, hangers and communication systems were severely damaged.
High-level Pakistani defense sources showed that $ 400- $ 470 million was approved in the Gupta Emergency Fund in late May for repair and upgradation. The United States allegedly prevented China from assisting repairing technology theft concerns, especially related to F -16 and C -130 aircraft.
To accelerate the repair, the US sent special teams from Al-Yuqid Airbase (Doha), Al Dhafra (Abu Dhabi), and Bethesda (Maryland), as Field Marshall Asim Munir personally requested help during meetings with Michael Kurila, the chief of US President Donald Trump and retired St.com.
Several US military flights (C -17S and C -130S) were tracked to Landing in Noor Khan Airbase between June and September, which confirms secret American activity on Pakistani soil. American support was accepted when Pakistan honored General Kurila with its highest military honor in July 2025.
While most of the damage has been repaired now, sources indicate that Rahm Yaar Khan’s airbase is out of the runway service due to the ongoing floods in South Punjab. PAF is also a rapid tracking upgrade with a hybrid American-Chinese satellite-billed radar system, which is aimed at preventing future weaknesses.
The revelation underlines the scale, the scale of the vermilion, accurate and later, the scale, accuracy, which has caused strategic damage to Pakistan’s aerial capabilities and revealed the increasing dependence of Islamabad on US military aid despite increasing Chinese cooperation.
