Toronto – Ontario is taking a step towards planning new pipelines to bring alberta oil and gas to the province for refining, to issue a request for proposals today for a feasibility study.
It follows an MoU between Ontario, Alberta and Suskechewan last month to take the railway lines to take important minerals for ports in western Canada along with new pipelines, as well as railway lines, and other infrastructure they say that they will help Canada to get more energy security.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford says Canada can no longer rely on energy infrastructure outside its boundaries and new pipelines and rail lines require both to ensure stability in the energy of Canadian people and to build jobs.
Alberta Premier Daniel Smith says that an Alberta-Atario will help Alberta oil and gas to reach markets across the country and the world.
Feasibility studies are also prescribed to detect a new port outlet on James Bay, Hudson Bay and Great Lex, and see the possibility of a new or extended refinery along the pipeline passage.
Also, Ontario wants the study to consider the benefits of installation of emergency reserves of petroleum.
