OnePlus may exit Indian smart TV market, remove category from website

OnePlus may have decided to stop manufacturing and selling TVs and monitors in India. The Chinese brand owned by BBK Electronics has removed the TV and monitor categories from its Indian website, hinting at a possible shift in business strategy. OnePlus entered the TV field back in 2019 with the launch of the OnePlus TV Q1 series. Over the years, it has released several affordable and mid-range smart TV models in the country. OnePlus is yet to make an official statement on exiting the TV and monitor business in India.

OnePlus has quietly deleted The TV and monitors section of India’s official website suggests it may be leaving the country’s TV market. The TV & Monitors microsite is currently displaying a 404 error page.

As of now, OnePlus has not announced its withdrawal from the Indian smart TV market. Gadgets 360 has reached out to the brand for comment on this story and will update the story when we hear back.

OnePlus entered the Indian smart TV market in 2019 with the OnePlus TV Q1 series. The company has since launched several models in different price ranges. However, OnePlus has not released any new TV models since last year. Meanwhile, the company has only two models in its display portfolio – OnePlus X 27-inch and OnePlus E 24-inch. BBK Electronics subsidiary Realme has also reportedly stopped producing and selling smart TVs in India.

The company started its journey into 2024 with the launch of OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R in January. OnePlus Nord CE 4 is confirmed to be officially launched on April 1st.
