A man has died after his car was hit car but in the wrong direction M6 motorway and Collided with another car on Sunday night.
lancashire Police were alerted at 9.33pm to a Vauxhall Astra car going the wrong way on the M6 near Charnock Richard services on the southbound carriageway.
A collision The incident occurred minutes later when the fifty-year-old driver of the Astra collided with a Toyota Corolla carrying two male passengers in their forties, who were hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police have urged the public to come forward with any information. Sergeant Rebecca Price, of Lancashire Police Road Policing Unit, said: “A man has tragically lost his life in this collision, and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time.
“I would like to make a direct appeal to anyone who was traveling on the motorway, and who may have witnessed the collision, or may have dashcam footage.
“We are keen to see any footage from around 9.15pm of Blackpool Road in Preston, where we believe the Astra may have been involved in a damage-only collision.
“If you have any information, or footage that could assist with those enquiries, please contact us as soon as possible.”
He said: “We know this collision has had a significant impact on traffic in the area, and we thank those of you who were stuck in traffic or had delays on your route for your patience while we responded to the incident.
“This will naturally cause some discussion in the local community, but I would like to ask at this time that you please refrain from speculating online or otherwise and allow our team to investigate.
“Please remember that this confrontation affected real people who may see your comments online.”
