One of every five children in Gaza suffers from malnutrition: UNRWA

For the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, the near East (UNRWA) said that one of every five children is malnourished in the city of Gaza as the cases grow every day.

The UNRWA Commissioner-General, Philip Lazarini said, “Most of our children are watching our teams, if they do not treat them, they are weak, weak and high risk to die. More than 100 people, most of them, have allegedly died of hunger.”

He said that parents are very hungry to take care of their children, “Those who reach the UNRWA clinics are not energy, food or means to follow medical advice.”

This deep crisis is affecting everyone, including those who try to save their lives in the war -torn enclave.

He said, “UNRWA frontline health workers, live on a small meal in a day, often only lentils, if all. They are fainting fast while on work. When the carers cannot find enough to eat, the entire humanistic system is collapsing,” he said.

Lazarini called humanitarian partners to bring unrestricted and uninterrupted humanitarian aid for Gaza.

“We are equal to 6,000 loaded trucks of food and medical supply in Jordan and Egypt, in UNRWA,” he said. (AI/WAM)
